Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1

Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1

A little joke to warm up the review:
‘this movie doesn’t deserve a joke to warm up the review’
This movie is nothing like the first two in the franchise. If you like Hunger Games for the teen on teen violence you’d be better off taking an evening stroll through Ashford high street  but If you like Hunger Games for backdrop of a war torn looking post apocalyptic world….you’d actually still be better off taking a walk through Ashford high street.
Bored is an understatement, i'm told ‘its great because its all about the politics of the struggle between communities and shows parallels with current war situations around the world’, yeah great but that’s not what you want from this kind of movie. It’s the equivalent of halfway through the twilight saga to start discussing the difference in vampire and werewolf job seekers allowance.
Mark where are the puns?!?
The only half decent action scene is when Katniss destroys a fighter plane with one of her red arrows but this wasn’t even realistic because it didn’t even do a loop de loop.
If you're reading this review thinking i'm going to do a cheap joke about Jennifer Lawrence’s leaked photos earlier this year you need to take your head out of the cloud.
I give this movie meh marks(immons) out of 10.

  1. The books are allegorical so the likely end of a dystopian poverty divide based future fiction is revolution and that's not very exciting subject matter for a film is it. Is 'meh' a number now? Ashford still shit? Torquay is like 'Escape From New York' crossed with 'Rise Of The Planet of The Apes'. Exeter is like a French subtitled art house movie; no plot and full of people saying stuff for effect and striking poses.
