High Rise

High Rise

The movie’s main character, Laing, has just moved into a high rise tower block. The first resident he meets is the very beautiful Charlotte Melville, peering over her balcony to him sunbathing below. He thinks he's in good shape but she's was on another level.

Each floor of the block represents a different level of the class system. The architect lives in the penthouse on the top floor and after a brief meeting there, Laing plays squash against him although the game is better when you use a wall.

In the first half of the film you keep seeing the architect's wife in the penthouse garden on her horse, 3 times on the trot.

He is told by another resident not to block the rubbish shoot, but it looked like a good one to me.

The families live on the lower floors, they are very unhappy when they lose electricity and are left in pitch black, I think they need to lighten up.

This is a hard film to follow and doesn't make a lot of sense but if you like shit films like that you should go watch it.

I give this movie 3 marks(immons) out of 10.

  1. I was at this place last week. This is such a joy as a place for food! I had a beautiful time at venue NYC here. It reminded me of another center in Memphis, Tennessee. A beautiful, wonderful place that had excellent atmosphere.
